Donald Trump Banned by Fort Greene's Madiba Restaurant

FORT GREENE — If Donald Trump comes stumping around Dekalb Avenue, he has no chance of enjoying a Durban Bunny Chow curry with a guava cocktail.

Fort Greene fixture Madiba has officially banned Donald Trump from its premises, it announced this week.

"This is a toupe[e] free zone," the restaurant posted on on its Facebook page, along with a picture of Trump with his signature hair blowing wildly. "Donald Trump is banned from Madiba restaurant."

The ban was apparently effective July 1, but the restaurant announced yesterday that it was still going strong.

"Ban still in effect," the restaurant wrote on its Facebook page Friday. "Not that he'd ever come, Brooklyn is way too diverse for him."

The South African restaurant, named in honor of Nelson Mandela, pays tribute to "the multitude of ethnically diverse people that make up her population," according to its menu.

Trump Banned

Fans of the Fort Greene fixture posted support for the ban online.

"Trump eating peri peri wings and bunny chow?" one commenter wrote. "Nope never gonna happen LOL whatever more for the rest of us."

But some expressed concern for the blanket jab at toupee-wearers.

"Funny but some toupe wearers will lament their inclusion in the exclusion!" a commenter wrote.

While the restaurant's Facebook avatar did not go into detail about its opposition to the presidential candidate on the postings, it twice posted: "Dump Trump."

A representative for Trump's presidential campaign declined to comment.
