BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A livery cab driver was beaten and robbed by his passengers in Brooklyn after one of the rider’s credit cards was declined, police said.

The 56-year-old man picked up two passengers at separate stops on Aug. 28, one at 2507 Avenue D in Brooklyn and the other in the vicinity of 650 Gates Ave., according to an NYPD spokesman. 

After driving the men around Queens and Brooklyn, the driver reached Madison Street near Tompkins Avenue in Bed-Stuy, where he asked for payment, police said.

After one of the suspect’s credit cards was declined the men struck the driver in the head with an unknown object, police said.

The incident took place outside 360 Madison St. around 4:50 p.m., officials said.

The pair grabbed the victim’s cellphone and $200 and fled the scene, according to police.

The driver suffered minor injuries to his head and body, officials said, and was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was treated and released.

Surveillance photos taken from inside the livery cab show the pair.

One of the suspects is described as a man in his mid-20s. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt.

The other is described as man in his mid-20s with a short beard who was last seen wearing a gray, long-sleeved shirt and black baseball cap.
