12 Subway Lines Slated for Weekend Service Disruptions, MTA says

MIDTOWN — Service disruptions are planned along 12 subways lines this weekend as the MTA continues its work on signals, tracks and stations.

Here’s a breakdown by line:

1 Train: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, 1 trains will be suspended in both directions between 14th Street and South Ferry. 2 and 3 trains will run local between Penn Station and Chambers Street. Free shuttle buses will be available for alternate service between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

2 Train: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.

Free shuttle buses will operate in two segments

Express shuttles will run between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse, stopping at the Hunts Point Avenue 6-train station and at 3rd Avenue-149th Street.

Local shuttles will make all stops between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse. Transfer will be available between train and free shuttle buses will stop at East 180th Street, Hunts Point Avenue and 149th Street Grand Concourse.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, 2 trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and Penn Station.

From 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will skip Church Avenue in both direction.

3 Train: Until October, 3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions. Free shuttle buses will be available instead.

For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, use shuttle buses to and from Saratoga Avenue.

For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses to and from Pennsylvania Avenue at all time.

Free transfers will be available with a MetroCard.

From 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday to Monday, 3 trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and Penn Station.

4 Train: Until October 2015, 4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Crown Heights-bound 4 trains will run express from Union Square to Brooklyn Bridge.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, 4 trains will run local in Brooklyn, skipping Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum.

5 Train: From 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains will not run in either direction from East 180th Street to Bowling Green. The 4 train and free shuttle buses will run instead. 5 trains will run as a shuttle between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

Free shuttle buses will run between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue 149th Street and between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street.

6 Train: Until later this month, 6 trains will skip 103rd Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will run express from Union Square to Brooklyn Bridge.

A Train: From 12:01 a.m. Tuesday until winter 2016, Far Rockaway-bound A trains will skip 80th Street.

For service to or from 80th Street, take a Far Rockaway-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service from 80th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Grand Avenue and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday until winter 2016, Far Rockaway-bound A trains will skip 111th Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Monday and from 11:45 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, downtown A trains will run express from Columbus Circle to Canal Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Monday and from 11:45 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, uptown A trains will run express from 125th Street to 168th Street.

C Train: From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday to Monday, Brooklyn-bound C trains will run express from Columbus Circle to Canal Street.

From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday to Monday, Washington Heights-bound C trains will run express from 125th Street to 168th Street.

E Train: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, E trains will run local in both directions between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills-71st Avenue.

F Train: Until this fall, Jamaica-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue. For service to this stop, take a Jamaica-bound F train to Church Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train. For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound F train to 18th Avenue and transfer to a Queens-bound F train.

F trains will also skip Avenue X.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jamaica-bound F trains will run express from Neptune Avenue to Smith-9th Streets.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Brooklyn-bound F trains will be rerouted via the E line from Roosevelt Avenue.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, F trains will run local in both directions in Queens.

J Train: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, J trains will every 20 minutes. The last stop for Jamaica Center-bound J trains will be 111th Street.

Q Train: From 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park.
