RICHMOND TOWN — A paraprofessional at a Staten Island school was arrested after prosecutors said he stole four Apple computers.
While doing an end-of-year inventory, teachers at P.S. 23, at 30 Natick St., found several Apple computers had gone missing between May 15 and June 11, a law enforcement source said.
The computers were worth $3,140, prosecutors said.
Police found that Michael Monforte, 26, a paraprofessional at the school, had signed into iTunes from the computers, the source said.
He was arrested on Monday and charged with criminal possession of stolen property at his Monday arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
Monforte was released without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 28, according to online court records.
His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
