GRAMERCY — A man and a woman tried to pay for drinks at two Gramercy bars using counterfeit $100 bills, NYPD officials said.

A 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man ordered two drinks in Pete's Tavern at 18th Street and Irving Place shortly after 2 a.m. and then tried to pay for them with the phony cash, but the bartender quickly called foul on the fake, police said.

The pair then headed to The Watering Hole on East 19th Street between Park and Lexington avenues and tried to pull the same trick, but this time the bar called police and the two were caught as they were headed out the door, according to authorities.

When police arrived, the woman tossed the bill to the ground and tried to walk away, the police report said.

Both were charged with possession of a forged instrument and released. They're due back in court on Wednesday. Their attorneys did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Other notable crimes that occurred in the 13th Precinct include:

► A 43-year-old man was caught snorting heroin in Bellevue Park South at 8:46 a.m. on Aug. 29, police said. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and released later that day after paying a $175 fine, according to court records.

► An 18-year-old punched a man in the face, bloodying his nose, during an argument on the sidewalk at 28th Street between Lexington and Park avenues, police said. The two men got into a dispute at 9:16 p.m., when things turned violent, according to authorities. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center for treatment. The attacker was charged with assault. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
