NEW YORK CITY — You gotta be in it to win it.

New York state residents hoping to see Pope Francis' processional through Central Park before he celebrates Mass at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 25 can enter a lottery to do so.

New York State residents can visit nyc.gov/papalvisit or call 311 between Thursday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 7 to enter the lottery. Winners are eligible to receive two tickets.

Pope Francis' two day visit to the city will take place on Sept. 24-25.

The pope will visit Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem and attend a "multi-religious" service at the 9/11 Memorial. In addition to the procession and Mass at Madison Square Garden, the pope will also attend evening prayer at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

The pope will also make stops in Washington D.C. to meet with President Barack Obama and also visit Philadelphia during his trip to the United States from Sept. 23-27 where he will host a Mass and visit a jail.

“The procession through Central Park will give thousands of New Yorkers an opportunity to come face to face with Pope Francis,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement. “We’re proud to welcome one of the world’s most powerful voices to our great city."
