UPPER EAST SIDE — Two Starbucks cafes on First and Third avenues is hoping to start serving beer and wine.

Representatives for both cafes at 1445 First Avenue, between 75th and 76th streets, and 1542 Third Avenue, between 86th and 87th streets, are slated to appear before Community Board 8's Street Life Committee to ask its blessing for beer and wine licenses on Sept. 1.

The push for alcohol sales at the two Upper East Side shops is reportedly part of the company's "Starbucks Evenings" program, which is already at more than 70 locations across the country.

The chain's Williamsburg outpost was the first in the city to start selling booze after 4 p.m., offering four different craft beers by Brooklyn Brewery and a selection of 10 wines.

The program's menu also has a number of small plates, from cheese plates to mac and cheese, flatbread and chicken skewers.

Despite opposition from its neighbors, the New York State Liquor Authority granted Starbucks its beer and wine license for the Williamsburg shop last year.

Starbucks is also approaching Community Board 1 this week to add alcohol to two other shops in the Financial District.

It's ultimately up to the SLA on whether to grant a liquor license or not, while community boards play an advisory role.

Starbucks did not immediately return a request for comment on Monday.
