EAST HARLEM — Two women were threatened by a gun-wielding man after confronting a bogus broker of an online apartment scam.

The women confronted their fake realtor for a refund of their $600 deposit after realizing that the keys to a Bronx apartment they were trying to rent did not fit the lock, according to police. They also discovered that other people were already living at the 1316 Odell Ave. address, authorities said.

The next day the two victims got into an argument with the suspect who gave them the fake keys after running into her at a Wendy’s on 125th Street near Park Avenue.

The suspected scammer grabbed one of victim's purse and a man pulled the other victim by the hair, authorities said. The fight stopped when the man showed the women a semiautomatic gun tucked under his waistband, police said.

The suspected con artist and her accomplice ran into a blue Ford SUV with the stolen purse in hand and drove off, police said.

No arrests have been made.
