CHELSEA — World of Beer, a beer-lovers happy place, opened on Eighth Avenue on Monday.

The tavern has 50 beers and ciders on tap that rotate through a database of more than 20,000 beers, plus another 500 beers including ciders and gluten-free options available by the bottle.

There's a local focus, with offerings from Gun Hill Brewing Co. and The Bronx Brewery from the Bronx, Singlecut Beersmiths from Queens and Brooklyn Brewery and Six Point Brewery from Brooklyn.

World of Beer was first started in Tampa, Florida in 2007 and now has more than 71 taverns in 21 states. The Chelsea location will be its first in the New York metro area, a spokeswoman said.

Hungry drinkers will find some tasty pub grub including giant Bavarian pretzels, sliders and a beer-infused brunch menu featuring waffles seasoned with Belgium Ale and a beer-brined chicken and waffle sandwich.

The tavern is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. For more information visit the website.
