VIDEO: Latino Comedy Troupe Releases Anti-Trump Music Video

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A Latino comedy troupe has a message for Donald Trump: “We won't vote for you.”

The kiss-off comes in the form of a hip-hop music video parody of Big Sean's "I Don't F*** With You," featuring Room 28 comedians letting Trump know they won’t be lining up for him come Election Day.

Members of the group have previously found success with the parody videos “Pan Con Queso,” a take on Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow,” and an original song called “Subway Girls.”

“I Won’t Vote for Trump” opens with a voiceover of Donald Trump’s recent comments about Latinos, including his statements disparaging Mexican immigrants, those detailing his plans to build a border wall and his promise that he will win the Latino vote if he earns the Republican nomination.

“Trump,” played by Jacob Berger, then climbs into a limo driven by Elmo DiFoca, a recurring character played by Dominican-American Jerry Diaz.

After calling DiFoca “Manny,” instead of Elmo, the Trump character falls asleep and has a nightmare featuring DiFoca and Latinos from different walks of life telling him they won’t vote for him.

“There’s millions of Latino voices. Trump you’re through,” DiFoca raps. “Cause we ain’t voting for you.”

The video pokes fun at Trump’s much-discussed hair and features scenes from some of his most recognizable projects, including the Miss Universe pageant and "'El' Apprentice."

When he wakes up, “Trump” apologizes to DiFoca.

“I love immigrants,” he says. “I’m very sorry if I insulted you.”

“I’m not an immigrant,” DiFoca replies with a roll of his eyes. “I’m an American.”

Diaz said he hopes the video will help people put Trump's candidacy in a humorous perspective.

"We wanted to make sure no one is taking Trump seriously because when you take him seriously, that’s when you give him power," he said.

The reaction to the video has been mostly positive, he said.

"I was expecting some negative, but it’s been overwhelming support," Diaz said. "[Trump's candidacy] has really unified us across the Latino community. We need to be on the same page because even though he is a silly person, it’s very serious what he’s saying."

The video has garnered almost 17,000 views since it was released Wednesday. The project is a partnership between Room 28 and the Voto Latino Action Network a nonprofit focused on promoting Latino voices in the political system.

The VL Action Network is asking fans of the video to show their support by registering to vote and changing their profile pictures to a cartoon drawing of Trump with the hashtag #IWVFU, or “I won’t vote for you.”

Diaz said that Room 28 is on board with that message.

"I know we’re jumping on Trump here, but for us, this is about how we need to make our voices count," he said. "We’re a major demographic in this country...Go out there and register and use your power."
