13 Subway Lines Slated for Service Disruptions This Weekend, MTA Says

NEW YORK — Thirteen subway lines are slated for service disruptions this weekend as the MTA continues making widespread upgrades to signals, tracks and stations.

Here’s a breakdown by line:

1 Train: From 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, 1 trains will be suspended between 14th Street and South Ferry in both directions. 2s and 3s will run local in both directions between Penn Station and Chambers Street as an alternative. Free shuttle buses will be available to provide alternate service between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

2 Train: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will be suspended between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse in both directions.

Free shuttle buses will be available in two segments:

Express buses will run between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse, stopping at the 6 stop at Hunts Points Avenue and at 3rd Avenue-149th Street.

Local shuttle buses will make all stops between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse. A transfer will be available between trains and free shuttle buses at East 180th Street, Hunts Point Avenue and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and Penn Station.

3 Train: Until October, 3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions. Free shuttle buses will be available instead.

For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, use shuttle buses to Saratoga Avenue.

For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses to Pennsylvania Avenue.

Free transfers will be available with a MetroCard.

From 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 3 trains will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue. Free shuttle buses will operate all weekend.

From 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday, 3 trains will run local in both directions between chambers Street and Penn Station.

4 Train: Until October, 4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, 4 trains will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue. Free shuttle buses will operate all weekend instead.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Crown Heights-bound will run express from Grand Central to Brooklyn Bridge.

5 Train: From 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and Bowling Green. Shuttle trains will operate between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

Free shuttle buses will run between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street. Other shuttle buses will make all regular train stops between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street.

6 Train: Until September 2015, Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will skip 103rd Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will run express from Grand Central to Brooklyn Bridge.

A Train: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, A trains will be rerouted via the F line in both directions between West 4th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Inwood-bound A trains will run express from 125th Street to 168th Street.

C Train: From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, C trains will be rerouted over the F line in both directions between West 4th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech.

From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Washington Heights-bound C trains will run express from 125th Street to 168th Street.

E Train: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, E trains will run local in both directions between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills-71st Street.

F Train: Until the winter, Jamaica-bound Fs will skip Ditmas Avenue. To get to Ditmas Avenue, take the F one stop farther and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F.

F trains will also skip Avenue X in Brooklyn.

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound F trains will be rerouted via the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to Rockefeller Center.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, F trains will run local both directions in Queens.

N Train: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, N trains will be rerouted over the D line in both directions between Coney Island and 36th Street. Free shuttles and R trains are available for alternate service.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound N trains will skip 49th Street.

Q Train: From 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound Q trains will skip 49th Street.

R Train: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, 36th Street-bound R trains will stop at 53rd Street and 45th Street.

From 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Queens-bound R trains will skip 49th Street.
