GREENWICH VILLAGE — A bartender at the Slaughtered Lamb was attacked by a woman who smashed a bottle on a table before using it as a weapon, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was tending bar at the West 4th Street pub on Aug. 11 about 11 p.m. when Johanna Lopez, 33, broke a beer bottle by hitting it against a table and then swung the broken bottle at the bartender, slashing her right hand, police said.

The bartender was taken to Lenox Hill HealthPlex (recently renamed Lenox Health Greenwich Village) on Seventh Avenue South with a three- to four-inch gash in the palm of her right hand, police said.

Lopez was arrested and charged with felony assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree with intent to use, court records show.

She was released without bail and is due back in court on Nov. 16. Her attorney did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The manager at the Slaughtered Lamb declined to comment.
