QUEENS — Police are looking for two suspects who shot and killed a man on a Jamaica street early Sunday morning while trying to steal his necklace, police and sources said.

Russell McKee, 30, of Cambria Heights, was sitting on the hood of his Lexus on the corner of Camden and Liberty avenues at about 5 a.m. waiting for his friends after he left a nearby party, police said, when two men approached him. One of them brandished a gun as they tried to grab McKee's necklace, according to sources.

During a struggle, several shots were fired, hitting McKee in the torso. The victim collapsed, and the suspects took his necklace and fled on foot.

McKee was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators believe that robbery was the motive behind the shooting, sources said.

No arrests have been made as of Monday, authorities said.

McKee had more than a dozen prior arrests, most of them marijuana related, officials said.

It was the second homicide in the 103rd Precinct this year, compared to seven during the same period last year.
