PARK SLOPE — A Thursday in early August was a busy day for break-ins, according to police reports.

Burglars struck three different apartments Aug. 6, swiping more than $12,000 in valuables, according to police reports.

At about 8:30 a.m., a thief stole two Apple computers and a U.S. passport from an apartment on Seventh Street and Sixth Avenue.

At 9 a.m., a burglar broke in through the front door of an apartment on Second Street and Sixth Avenue, damaging the door frame, and took an Apple laptop, an antique locket, a sapphire ring and vodka and tequila.

At 3 p.m., a 34-year-old man returned from work to find his living room table had been moved toward an open window and the MacBook that had been sitting on the table was gone. The burglary happened at Sterling Place and Seventh Ave.

It wasn't immediately known whether the burglaries were linked.

The 78th Precinct saw an uptick in burglaries as the weather warmed in April and May, and police warned residents to keep windows shut and locked and doors secure.

Other notables crimes in the 78th Precinct include the following, with details drawn from police reports:

► A $5,000 Anonimo watch and $15,000 diamond ring on Aug. 4 were discovered stolen from a storage unit on Third Avenue and Carroll Street.

► An ex-employee stole $3,500 from a safe in a bodega on Seventh Avenue and Ninth Street on Aug. 4 at 7:30 a.m. The ex-employee had a spare key to the store and was seen on video surveillance taking the money from the safe.

► A tourist from Maryland parked her car Aug. 1 at 3 p.m. near a hotel on Butler St. and Third Avenue and returned to find $1,800 in clothes had been stolen from the vehicle, including a Washington Nationals Denard Span jersey, a Nationals cap, and garments from Brooks Brothers, Lord & Taylor and Kohl's.
