Sketches from Tom Brady’s court appearance Wednesday rendered the four-time Super Bowl Champion unrecognizable, prompting the Internet to do what it does best — memes — and the artist to apologize.  

“I’m getting bad criticism that I made him look like Lurch,” sketch artist Jane Rosenberg told the New York Times. “And obviously I apologize to Tom Brady for not making him as good-looking as he is.” 

The New England Patriots quarterback is in court over his four-game suspension for his role in “Deflategate.” [USA Today]

"Sesame Street" Moves to HBO

The HBO empire is expanding into kids' TV. Sesame Street Workshop announced Thursday that it has signed a 5-year contract with the subscription entertainment giant that produces more adult shows like "Game of Thrones" and "True Detective." Of course, the news inspired memes.

The new trailer for Roland Emmerich’s movie "Stonewall" sparked backlash from people who accused Emmerich of “whitewashing” the true story of that night in 1969 by leaving out the prominent roles that people of color played in fighting back against the police.

Now a black lesbian minister is sharing a powerful picture of the experience of a young black woman in New York at that time. From the comments section on the article, it appears her account was almost as controversial as Emmerich’s trailer. [The Advocate]
