ASTORIA — A flea market that launched last summer in an outdoor movie lot at Kaufman Astoria Studios will return as a night market for three Saturdays next month.

Astoria Flea and Food — from the same organizers of the LIC Flea and Food that takes place each weekend on the Hunters Point waterfront — will be held for three nights in September at the movie lot, according to founder Josh Schneps.

"It was very successful last year, and I think we'll probably have a good base of the most popular vendors of LIC Flea," said Schneps, who is also the publisher of the Queens Courier, which first reported the market's return.

The organizer decided to bring the market back in the evenings to allow LIC Flea vendors to participate — that market runs during the day on Saturdays and Sundays — and to accommodate the filming schedule at Kaufman Astoria, Schneps said.

"We also wanted to try and do something a little bit different," he said of the time change.

During its launch last year, the market offered a mix of food and retail vendors. It will likely feature some of the same vendors who sell at the LIC Flea, though Schneps is currently accepting applications for new vendors too, he said.

The market will be held on Sept. 12, 19 and 26 from 6 to 11 p.m. on the outdoor back lot at Astoria Kaufman Studios, located at 36th Street between 34th and 35th avenues.

The 34,800 square-foot space is the city's only outdoor working stage, which opened in 2013 after the city closed that block of 36th Street in order for it to be built.

The lot is part of the Kaufman Astoria Studios complex, which includes several sound stages — its eighth is underway — and is home to the production of hit shows like "Sesame Street" and "Orange is the New Black."
