This kitten almost lost one of its nine lives.

The tiny cat got trapped under a delivery truck, when the vehicle was stopped at a red light in Rego Park at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

The driver, who was stopped at the intersection of Eliot Avenue and Queens Boulevard, spotted the stowaway as it hopped under the truck.

Afraid to hurt the cat, he called the police instead of moving the vehicle.

When Police Officers Keith Tuohey and Nicole Patwell of the 112th Precinct responded to the scene, the driver told them that the kitten was stuck between the rear tire and the truck bed.

Lieutenant Eileen Han, who also arrived on scene, crawled underneath the truck with Officer Tuohey, and used a broom stick to free the cat, police said.

The kitten's right back leg and left eye socket got injured, but otherwise it seemed to be in good shape, police said.

The cat was then taken to the nearby Animal Control and Care Center in Rego Park, authorities said.
