Mr. Met better watch his back.
The Amazin's have shot to first place since a baby raccoon appeared in the team's weight room at Citi Field — proving the furry friend may be a better mascot than the big-headed baseball.
"Rally Raccoon," as some fans have dubbed him, was found on July 26, right before the Mets were getting ready to play the Dodgers.
They won that game, and the next five out of seven. They're now in first place after sweeping the Nationals.
Some fans are crediting good trades and the front office. But most are just thanking the raccoon (who, according to a spokesman, was set free in Queens.)
