Service Changes Planned for 15 Subway Lines This Weekend, MTA Says

 The 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, D, E, F, J ,L, M, N and Q lines will all be affected.

NEW YORK CITY — Brace yourself for a slew of subway service changes this weekend.

The MTA's working on 16 lines this weekend, so plan accordingly.

2 Train:

2 trains won’t run in either direction between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The 2 will be running in two parts between Wakefield-241st Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street, and between Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College. A free shuttle bus will be running express between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street.

There will also be a local shuttle making station stops at 149th Street-Grand Concourse, 145th, 135th, 125th, 116th, and 110th streets.

3 Train:

3 trains are suspended from 11:30 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Monday. Customers can take the 2, 4 lines and free shuttle buses.

2 trains will make all 3 stops between 96th Street and Franklin Avenue. 4 trains will make all stops between Franklin Avenue and New Lots Avenue.

3 trains continue to skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until Spring 2016.

Shuttle buses will operate from Saratoga Avenue station at all times. B60 customers can also transfer to a shuttle bus at Rockaway Avenue.

For service from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses from Pennsylvania Avenue station. 

4 Train:

4 trains will run an extended service to New Lots Avenue due to construction on the 3 train.

4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions and Brooklyn-bound trains skip 103rd Street at all times until September.

5 Train:

5 trains will be suspended between East 180 Street and 149 Street-Grand Concourse from 6:30 a.m to 11 p.m both Saturday and Sunday.

Customers can take a free shuttle bus. The 2 train will also provide service between East 180th Street and 3 Avenue-149 Street.

6 Train:

Northbound 6 trains will run express from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Southbound 6 trains will run express from Parkchester to Hunts Point Avenue from 6:45 a.m on Saturday to 7 p.m Sunday.

Southbound 6 trains continue to skip 103rd Street until September 2015.

A Train:

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, northbound A trains will run express from Canal Street to 125 Street.

Brooklyn bound A trains will run local from 59 Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m Monday. 

Trains to Brooklyn skip Rockaway Boulevard through Fall 2015. To get to Rockaway Boulevard, take the Brooklyn-bound A to 88th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

C Train:

Northbound C trains will run express from Canal Street to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

D Train:

Coney Island-bound D trains are rerouted via the N line at 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, beginning at 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

E Train:

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound E trains will run express from Canal Street to 34th Street-Penn Station.

Manhattan-bound E trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday, and 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

E trains will also skip 75th Avenue and Briarwood on the southbound from 11:45 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Monday. 

F Train:

Jamaica-bound F trains will run express from West 4th Street to 34th Street-Herald Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound F trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard, Briarwood and 75th Avenue from 11:45 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Monday.

Jamaica-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue and Avenue X at all times until the fall.

J Train:

J trains are suspended in both directions between Hewes Street and Broad Street from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

L Train:

L trains will operate in two sections between 8 Avenue and Broadway Junction and Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

M Train:

M trains will be suspended in both directions, between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

N Train:

Coney Island-bound N trains are rerouted via the R line from Canal Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Q Trains:

Manhattan-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound Q trains are rerouted via the R line from Canal Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

R Trains:

Bay Ridge-bound R trains will run express from Forest Hills-71 Avenue to Queens Plaza from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
