Cosmopolitan had a great idea: make a street harassment video like the one that went viral last year and add the boyfriends of catcalled women watching the video in horrified, chivalrous disgust. Because it's not wrong until a man says it's wrong.
But spreading awareness about street harassment is a worthy cause no matter how it's done, right?
Cosmo captures catcalls in the same way as the original video had: the women, dressed mostly in black, walk through Midtown, Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen with a hidden camera in front of them, capturing the men whistling and making comments as they go by.
The video shows a man outside a strip club shouting to one woman, "We're hiring!"
"Nice. Real tasteful. I shouldn't get mad at that?" Seth, her boyfriend, raged.
So, in closing, men who have girlfriends do not approve of catcalling.
