Off-Duty NYPD Officer Shot in Robbery, Police Say

BROOKLYN — Two men shot an off-duty NYPD officer in East New York Tuesday night, police said.

They attacked the officer outside 737 Bradford St., near Hegeman Avenue, about 10:30 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

Police said the 33-year-old officer was robbed before being shot. It's unknown what was taken.

He suffered wounds to his left forearm and grazing of his torso, police said.

There was some sort of pursuit after the shooting, according to the NYPD spokesman who did not have further details.

The officer brought himself to Brookdale University Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspects fled and had not been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.
