WILLIAMSBURG — A man was shot in the leg while sitting in a playground in the Williamsburg Houses, police said.
The victim, 24, was in the playground on Ten Eyck Walk between Maujer and Scholes streets before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17, when a man wearing a black mask came up and shot him once in the upper left leg, police said.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in unknown condition.
The suspect, who was carrying a 9MM semiautomatic black pistol, was wearing all black and ran toward Bushwick Avenue after the shooting, police said.
The victim is a known member of the Latin Kings gang, police said.
No one has been arrested for the incident.
