SOHO — Local elected officials are sponsoring a forum to educate New Yorkers on their rights and responsibilities as tenants of condo, co-op and live-work buildings.

The forum will be held at St. Anthony's Church at 151 Sullivan St. On Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.

Sponsored by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, state Sen. Daniel Squadron, and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, the event will afford locals an opportunity to ask a panel of experts questions about their lofts, co-ops, condos, and joint live-work quarters for artists housing.

The experts come from the New York City Loft Board, the Attorney General's office, the New York State Homes and Community Renewal division, which includes several state agencies related to housing issues, and the non-profit organization CNYC, Inc. (the Council of New York City Co-Ops and Condominiums).

They will explain the rights and responsibilities of renters, loft tenants, apartment owners or shareholders, the role of a management company or co-op or condo board, and legal issues related to co-ops, condos and joint live-work quarters for artists.
