QUEENS — Moca Asian Bistro, a popular eatery on Forest Hills' “Restaurant Row,” was closed by the Health Department earlier this week after inspectors found roaches in its kitchen, according to the agency’s website.

Health inspectors who visited the restaurant, at 107-18 70th Road, on July 13, hit it with 46 health violation points.

"Moca Asian Bistro was closed due to a public health hazard that could not be corrected at the time of the inspection," a spokesman for the agency said in an email. "In this case, they were closed due to a severe pest infestation."

The eatery was also "conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist," the agency said on its website.

Additionally, Moca was cited because workers touched food that would not be cooked afterward with their bare hands, as well as due to improper use of pesticides, records show.

"Once they provide us with extermination service receipts and a pest control plan, they can request a re-opening inspection," the spokesman said.

Moca’s owners could not immediately be reached for comment.
