CARROLL GARDENS — Indian restaurant Baluchi's will soon become the newest addition to Smith Street's dining scene, its owner said Tuesday.

The newest Baluchi's, which has several locations in Manhattan and Queens, is slated to open this month at 257 Smith St. the former location of Ramna, another Indian eatery.

Baluchi's owner Rohan Aggarwal said they took over the space about two-and-a-half weeks ago and "hopefully we should be opening by the middle of [next] week," he said. The eatery also announced the new spot on its Facebook page Tuesday.

The Carroll Gardens location will serve as a replacement for Baluchi's Park Slope joint, which closed at the end of February, Aggarwal said. Baluchi's also used to have a Smith Street space that closed in 2011.

"We're really familiar with the neighborhood and we can't wait to be back there," he said.

Baluchi's menu features a selection of kababs, curries, biryanis and pulaos as well as breads, chaats, and appetizers such as samosas.

The restaurant plans to eventually launch a weekend brunch menu and also hopes to host yoga classes in a back room, Aggarwal said.
