UPPER EAST SIDE — A man forced his way into an Upper East Side apartment and assaulted two women before fleeing with cash, a gold chain and a gold necklace last week, police said.
The man assaulted and robbed the 53- and 73-year-old women after forcing his way into an apartment at 8:30 a.m. on July 1, police said. He then fled with an unknown amount of money and the jewelry, police said.
Police did not describe the nature of the women's injuries but said they refused medical attention.
The suspect was wearing a blue cap with orange writing, a gray sweatshirt and jeans, and was carrying a black and yellow bag with a yellow construction hat hooked on to it, according to surveillance video released by police.
