Man Fatally Shot Near 99-Cent Store, NYPD Says

MARBLE HILL — A 22-year-old man staggered into a 99-cent store after being fatally shot in the chest on Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened in front of 5221 Broadway in the 50th Precinct, police said.

Officers arrived at the address around 9:30 a.m. and found the man with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS took the victim to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No one has been arrested yet, and an investigation into the victim's death is ongoing. His name was not immediately released.
