STATEN ISLAND — An ex-NYPD officer who made headlines last year for his seven domestic violence related arrests was charged again after he threw a knife at the same woman, a law enforcement source said.

Manuel DaSilva, 45, of New Dorp, was arrested inside his Tysens Lane home after he threatened his girlfriend when she tried to break it off with him on Friday at about 10:30 p.m., prosecutors said.

DaSilva, who's 5-foot-10 and weighs 220 pounds, allegedly threw a knife at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her if she told the police, prosecutors said.

"If you tell the cops I'll put a bullet in the back of your head and get away with it 'cause I was a cop," DaSilva told his girlfriend, according to court papers.

He left the NYPD in 2007 after an Internal Affairs Investigation inside the 61st Precinct in Brooklyn outed him as a steroid user, the Village Voice reported.

In 2014, DaSilva was busted seven times for attacking and threatening the same woman, the Staten Island Advance reported. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct but avoided any jail time for those arrests, the Advance reported.

DaSilva had several orders of protection issued to stay away from the woman, which he broke in his latest arrest, according to court papers.

He was also arrested in 2012 after he stole $76,000 of electronics from an Apple store in SoHo where he worked as a security guard. He pleaded guilty to petit larceny in January 2013 for that arrest and was ordered to pay back approximately $70,000 in restitutions, the Manhattan District Attorney's office said.

DaSilva was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal contempt and harassment at his arraignment on Friday for his latest arrest, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $1,000 and another temporary order of protection was issued by the judge, according to online court records. He's due back in court on July 10.

Information for DaSilva's lawyer was not immediately available.
