QUEENS — Two men in their early 20s were found dead in separate incidents in Southeast Queens on Independence Day, police said.

Authorities discovered a 21-year-old man laying on a bed inside a home on 82nd Street, near Linden Boulevard in Ozone Park, on July 4 around 7:15 a.m. Officials said the man, who was unconscious and unresponsive, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD has not released the man's name pending family notification and said the investigation was ongoing.

About an hour later, police found a 22-year-old man inside a home on 139th Street, near 88th Avenue in Jamaica. Sources said the man suffered from depression and was found hanging from a beam in the basement. The man was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death in both cases, police said.
