Asian Eatery Serving Cold Food While They Wait for Gas to Be Turned On

FLATIRON — South Asian-Chinese eatery Chop Shop II soft opened on West 24th Street — with a menu focusing on cold dishes as it waits for its gas to turn on, according to their website.

While the restaurant awaits its gas meter, its "light summer menu" features an abundance of cold dishes, including poached poussin in a szechuan chili oil for $12 and salmon tartare with mango, avocado and watercress for $8, according its website.

"While we wait for our gas meter, we hope you will enjoy a light summer menu based on Chinese and Southeast Asian street fare. The menu is a work in progress and subject to change!" the restaurant said on their website.

Drink offerings include wine from Austria and beer from Laos, according to its menu.

Chop Shop II at 41 W. 24th St. is a sister to Chelsea's Chop Shop, a collaboration from the owners of neighborhood mainstay Bottino, according to Chop Shop's website.
