EAST HARLEM — A mugger quizzed his victim before stealing his $10,000 white metal chain and shooting at him, police said.

"You know what this is?" the robbery asked his 34-year-old victim as he pointed a silver handgun at him about 4 a.m. July 2. "This is a robbery."

An armed robber, one of two holdup men, shot at the victim near the corner of 121st Street and Lexington Avenue, police said.

Luckily, the robber missed.

The two men drove off in a van, police added.
