BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Commuters at one of Bed-Stuy’s busiest transit hubs will soon be able to track their buses in real-time thanks to countdown clocks slated for the B25.

The two east and westbound stops at Fulton Street and Utica Avenue will receive countdown clocks as a result of $40,000 in funding allocated by Councilman Robert Cornegy.

“This is simple technology that will benefit everyone and I look forward to hearing how it makes a difference in residents’ lives,” Cornegy said in a statement.

While the MTA already allows riders to check their bus' location through texts and the agency’s Bus Time website, the clocks will make information easily accessible to all straphangers, according to a representative from the councilman’s office.

The A and C train station is located on the same block as the planned installation sites, making it a popular transfer point for commuters. In 2014, the B25 serviced 3,412,152 riders, according to the MTA.

There are currently three bus stops in the city with countdown clocks located in Staten Island and Manhattan.

The Department of Transportation will work with the councilman this summer to determine a timeline for the installations at Fulton and Utica, agency representatives said.
