It's phallic, yet functional.

Meet the "J-cone," a $4 hook-shaped cone stuffed with ice cream that, as many have pointed out, looks a little obscene.

While the design is new to New York, the owners of Play-J Ice Cream truck Chulho Kang and Rich Kion have borrowed the idea from already popular ice cream cone shapes in South Korea and the Philippines, according to Grub Street.

The Play-J truck has been open in and around SoHo for only six weeks but it has already received its fair share of fans. As the company's Twitter account says, "We don't wanna just serve you an ice cream. We want you to enjoy, have fun, and experience something new."

Most focus on the J-cone's quirky — and somewhat embarrassing — shape, but beyond the curious construction is an efficiency that traditional ice cream cones lack.

Since the cone covers the ice cream entirely, the chance that the melting dessert will create an unsightly stain on your shirt is a lot lower. Better yet, the cone's thick, puffed corn makeup means that as the ice cream melts, the cone will not get soggy, reports say.

At present, J-cone can be filled with vanilla, chocolate or half and half, but Play-J plans to add green tea and black sesame flavors soon.
