CRIME BLOTTER: $11K Antique Ring Stolen, Thief Swipes Fanny Pack from Park

PARK SLOPE — An $11,000 antique diamond ring was stolen out of an apartment on Eighth Avenue and Eighth Street, according to a police report.

The 43-year-old victim told police the theft happened sometime between March 23 and June 11, when she reported the crime, according to the report.

Several people, including babysitters, housecleaners and construction workers, had access to the jewelry box where the ring was stored, according to the report.

Other notable recent crimes in the 78th Precinct include the following, with all details drawn from police reports:

► A woman had her fanny pack stolen after she left it unattended on a bench while she lounged on the grass in Prospect Park. The woman, 44, was sitting near Ocean Avenue and East Lake Drive at about 3:45 p.m. on June 13.

► A $499 Kona Dew bike, a $450 Jamis bike, a Kryptonite lock and Copilot child's seat were stolen from the sidewalk on Second Street near Sixth Avenue on June 7 between 7:10 and 9 p.m.

► Three men walked into an AT&T store on Seventh Avenue near Union Street on June 12 about 5:30 p.m. and stole two iPhone 6s and a Samsung Galaxy from a display stand. A witness saw the men get into a car with a Virginia license plate.

► A 37-year-old woman had her purse stolen after leaving it in a shopping cart at Marshalls in the Atlantic Terminal Mall across from the Barclays Center at about 7:05 p.m. on June 13. The bag contained $200 in cash and an Apple iPhone 6, among other valuables.
