EAST HARLEM — A 74-year-old woman was beaten with a water bottle and robbed while checking her mailbox at her 119th Street apartment.
The assault happened Wednesday at 2 p.m. in 333 East 119th Street. The woman was checking her mailbox when the suspect, a woman who looked like she was in her 20s, asked if the super was around, police said.
She then stated hitting the elderly woman with a water bottle, saying “give me your money,” according to the NYPD.
At first the 74-year-old resisted but she eventually handed the suspect her wallet.
The woman ran across the street took out $28 from the wallet and threw it to the ground, police said.
