EAST HARLEM — A 23-year-old and his teen accomplice threatened to cut a man with a box cutter if he did not buy them candy and cigarettes, police said.

Following their demands, he went into a deli near 124th Street and Madison Avenue about 5:20 p.m. June 9 and bought $25 worth of goods. But when he tried to walk away, the 15-year-old lunged at him with a box cutter, according to the criminal complaint.

The teenager was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon, according to the criminal complaint.

Demorh was due back in court Monday, records show.

His lawyer did not immediately reply to questions about his case.
