FORT GREENE — A man slashed a 24-year-old woman in the arm outside a problem-plagued shelter for homeless families on Auburn Place before running off, police said.

The attack took place at 6:30 p.m. on May 31 outside the Auburn Family Shelter at 39 Auburn Place, the NYPD said. The woman was not seriously injured, according to police.

It is unclear whether the victim was a resident of the shelter, which is currently undergoing renovations after it was revealed to have deplorable living conditions.

The New York Times published a series in 2013 focusing on the life of a little girl named Dasani, exposing conditions at the shelter that included mold, vermin and the presence of sexual predators. In response, the city removed more than 100 families from the homeless shelter last year, the paper reported.

No arrests were made and an investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.

Other crimes in the 88th Precinct:

► A car parked on Navy Street and Park Avenue had its front window smashed and a $1,200 navigation system stolen, police said. The owner of the car, a 28-year-old woman, was at work at the time of the crime, which took place about 7 p.m. on May 27, police said. No arrests have been made.

► A car parked outside 7 Lefferts Place had its front window smashed and wallet stolen from inside about 1 p.m. on May 29, police said. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, police said.

► A Citibike chained to a tree outside 241 DeKalb Ave. was stolen about 4:15 p.m. on May 31 while the renter was eating lunch, police said. No arrests have been made, according to police.
