NOHO — A man “acting erratically” pushed a 28-year-old woman onto the subway tracks Monday morning, police said.
The woman was on the platform waiting for a southbound 6 train at the Bleecker Street stop at about 9 a.m. when the man approached her, police said.
“What are you looking at?” he asked her, according to the NYPD.
He then ran up to a garbage can, pulled out an empty plastic bottle, and threw it at the woman before pushing her onto the tracks, police said.
Video released by the NYPD shows a man wearing a powder blue shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt and khakis. He is seen walking across the platform with a red bag, before the video cuts to footage of him running towards the trash can, pulling out the bottle and running the other way.
A group of good Samaritans helped the woman back onto the platform while the suspect fled, police said.
The victim's injuries included cuts on her chin, damage to her front teeth, a sprained wrist and numerous scratches and bruises, police said. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated and released, according to the NYPD.
