HELL'S KITCHEN — Service on the far West Side 7 train extension is nearly a reality, a year and a half after it was first set to open, the MTA said.

Subway workers started training at the new Hudson Yards station at West 34th Street on May 26, which is the last step before opening the line for service, said MTA New York City Transit President Carmen Bianco.

“We are in the final 50-yard sprint of this project,” said MTA Capital Construction Company President Michael Horodniceanu.  “We expect to announce an opening date in the next several weeks."
