TRIBECA — Music, games and free ice cream are heading to Pier 25 Monday afternoon.

To celebrate Shavuot, a Jewish holiday to commemorate the day God gave Jews the Torah on Mt. Sinai, the Jewish Community Project Downtown is hosting a late afternoon of family fun on the TriBeCa pier.

According to the JCP, it's customary to celebrate the holiday by eating dairy, in part because "just as babies are nourished by sweet milk, our ancestors — in their infancy as a people — were nourished by the Torah."

The free ice cream, along with family-friendly games and music, will run from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, on the Pier 25, located at N. Moore and West Street.

For more information, head to the JCP Downtown website.
