DUMBO — Residents at DUMBO's latest luxury development can enjoy a roof deck that is very similar to the High Line — but with up-close views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The architects behind Chelsea's elevated park also landscaped the rooftop terrace at 60 Water St. using many of the same design elements and plant life found at the High Line.

James Corner Field Operations created angled walkways and open areas for taking in the views in their design of 60 Water St. along with oversized wooden lounge chairs that overlook the East River — much like the chairs found overlooking Tenth Avenue and the Hudson River on the High Line, according to a salesperson at 60 Water St.

Another similarity is the water feature, a reflective pool, which is found at both sites, she said.

The plant life at 60 Water St. is also reminiscent of the High Line's prairie-like foliage and includes the golden wheat-like Little Bluestem, Korean Feather Reed Grass, Moor Grass and other greenery — dubbed "meadow" by the architects — that is found at both sites.

"We are the designers of both projects and often times certain aesthetics carry through our work," said Isabel Castilla, a designer on the project.

But Castilla pointed out that the 60 Water St. deck is unique to its environment in many ways.

"We do see this terrace as a very different design though that directly responds to the context and carves out unique spaces, positions strategically to enjoy the unique views of the river and Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges," she said.

James Corner Field Operations is responsible for Beekman Street Plazas and Greenpoint Landing and is currently working on a redesign of the South Street Seaport.

Apartments are still available for lease at 60 Water St. with prices starting at $3,000 and two-bedrooms going for $6,570.
