CROWN HEIGHTS — Goodbye bodega, hello Dunkin’.

A new Dunkin’ Donuts is set to open in the neighborhood, a company spokeswoman confirmed this week, replacing the colorful Super Express Deli-Grocery at 806 Franklin Ave. that has anchored the southwest corner of Eastern Parkway and Franklin Avenue for years.

Workers have already started construction to convert the bodega into a new outpost for the coffee chain, the Dunkin’ rep said Tuesday, though an official opening date for the new shop has not yet been set.

The new shop will join three other Dunkin’ Donuts are already in operation in Crown Heights and a slew of new coffee shops that have opened in the neighborhood in recent years, including the area’s first Starbucks, which opened last fall on the northeast corner of Eastern Parkway and Franklin, a block away from the new Dunkin’.

“Starbucks on one corner, Dunkin' Donuts on another. Where will this end?” asked a commenter on a local message board, Brooklynian, where locals first reported the storefront switch.

The owners of the deli could not be reached for comment.
