Hillary Clinton: Just Another Chill Brooklynite

By Emilie Ruscoe | May 15, 2015 2:35pm | Updated on May 18, 2015 8:44am

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton's campaign posted a video of the presidential candidate greeting neighbors of her new Brooklyn Heights campaign headquarters.

The video opens with text across the screen asking "So, how DO Brooklyn residents feel about their neighbor?"

A gaggle of teens yell "We love you!" from across the street and another woman excitedly hops up and down before a photo op with Clinton. Among the shots of Clinton chatting with fans, there's a cab driver pulling over to sing her praises.

"I tell everybody in my car to vote for Hillary Clinton," he said.

Clinton also debuted a variation on a classic campaign-trail PR move. Instead of planting kisses on the babies of strangers, she opted instead for a triple-whammy. Celebrating the cuteness of babies, highlighting a relatable part of her personal life and showcasing her support of independent local businesses, Clinton went dress-shopping for her 7-month-old granddaughter Charlotte at the neighborhood Area Kids children's boutique.

The Daily News reports that the selected baby dress is not bespoke. DNAinfo New York has reached out to Tea Collection, the company that makes the dress.

"Traffic to our site has been steady all day but more importantly we are so honored and hope that Chelsea and her daughter love the dress," spokesperson Britton Taylor said.
