MANHATTAN — An off-duty MTA conductor slugged a cabbie in the face during a dispute over his fare in TriBeCa early Monday morning, police said.

Brandon Jenkins, 26, punched the driver, who is in his 30s, near the intersection of Broadway and Canal Street about 4 a.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Jenkins was arrested on assault charges, police said. He was given a ticket and is due back in court on June 17, police said.

The driver was treated at Lower Manhattan Hospital for bruises and swelling to his face, police said.

The MTA and Taxi and Limousine Commission did not immediately have information about the incident.
