BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A 16-year-old was killed and another teen was wounded in a Friday shooting at Bed-Stuy’s Marcy Houses, police said.

Dontea Bascom and a 13-year-old boy, whose name was not released, were hit by gunfire as they sat in the courtyard of 626 Park Ave. around 7 p.m. in an apparent gang-related shooting, police sources said.

Bascom, 16, was shot in the groin and pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

Heartbroken family and friends remembered him as an upbeat teen.

"He put a smile on everyone's face," Bascom's father, Sherwayne Bascom, 44, said. "He was a wonderful kid. He'd light up everyone's day."

Sherwayne Bascom said he saw his son, who was a student at ROADS Charter High School, hours before he was murdered.

"He came here to take a shower," the devastated dad said from his Crown Heights home. "I walked him up the block at about 4:30 [p.m.]. I told him, 'Be safe, homie.' That was it."

The 13-year-old was taken to Bellevue Hospital with two gunshot wounds to the torso and leg. He is expected to survive, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
