MANHATTAN — Three men were slashed during a fight with another two inside the Union Square subway station Friday morning, police said.

The trio had been at music venue Webster Hall at 125 E. 11th St., near Third Avenue, when they left and walked to the subway station about 4:40 a.m., an NYPD official said.

The other two men also left the venue at the same time and headed to the train, police said.

None of their names were immediately released by police.

The groups made it to the mezzanine level of the station near some turnstiles when they began arguing and the fight quickly turned physical, police said.

The two suspects, 20 and 24, slashed one man across the face, one across the forehead and stabbed a third in the back, NYPD officials said.

"One was holding a towel by the left side of his neck. He had on a tank top. He was covered in blood," said Calvin Thomas, who sells newspapers in the station.

They were treated at Bellevue Hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening, police said.

The suspects were taken into custody at the scene, police said.
