BROOKLYN — Two men were found dead on a stretch of Long Island Rail Road tracks in Bensonhurst Thursday evening, police said.

The men, who investigators believe were homeless, were found lying 10 feet apart on the tracks near 67th Street and 15th Avenue about 7:50 p.m., NYPD officials said.

They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The two men appeared to have been struck by a train, police said, but that the city's medical examiner will determine their official cause of death.

Their bodies were discovered near a well-known homeless encampment, an NYPD spokesman said.

The LIRR was running normally Friday morning, according to the MTA's website.
