BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Raise a pint to Brooklyn’s literary past.

The organizers behind the popular Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl are back in Brooklyn for their literature-themed pub crawl held every Sunday, beginning April 19.

Lovers of literature can delve into the borough's literary history, with stories about writers like Walt Whitman, Frank McCourt, Paula Fox and Jonathan Lethem, said Eric Chase, the pub crawl’s organizer and tour guide.

The group started the literary pub crawl in Brooklyn last year after successfully launching a walking tour in the borough in 2013, Chase said.

The tour stops at three bars and centers on noteworthy literary and historic sights, such as the apartment above Montero’s Bar & Grill on Atlantic Avenue, where “Angela’s Ashes” author Frank McCourt once lived.

“There’s been a real rise in not just living in Brooklyn, but learning about Brooklyn,” he said.

Attendees and tour guides will meet every Sunday at 1 p.m. at Brooklyn Heights' Henry Street Ale House, where the tour will begin with neighborhood stories and historical facts.

Guides will also recite excerpts from works by Brooklyn writers at each pub, Chase said.

The tour, which is roughly two 1/2 to three hours long, primarily takes people through Brooklyn Heights but also traverses Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill.

Tours will continue throughout the year, including the winter months if the weather permits.

Tickets are priced at $20, and $15 for students and seniors. To register for the tour, visit this website.
