WILLIAMSBURG — You gotta be a real bum to miss this show.

Artist Catalina Viejo Lopez de Roda painted 42 celebrity butts on miniature canvases for a new show at gallery and sex toy retailer SHAG in Williamsburg, called "A View of the End."

The paintings — which are as small as three-fourths of an inch by three-fourths of an inch — only show the derrière of a celebrity, forcing the viewer to lean in closely to guess who it belongs to.

Viejo Lopez de Roda only painted the images based on photos where the celebrity didn't seem to know the picture was being taken — many were grainy shots where the person seems to be in an awkward position.

It's a funny, silly concept, but it's also a show prompting people to think about celebrities' privacy and the way they look at women's bodies, the artist told DNAinfo New York.

"It forces the viewer to go up close and be their own version of paparrazi," Viejo Lopez de Roda said. "It questions their own voyeuristic impulses."

Most the paintings are of different celebrities — only Jennifer Aniston's behind makes two appearances in the show.

Images range widely, with zoomed-in snapshots of the butts, butts with thongs, fully clothed butts and head-to-toe paintings of backsides.

The artist is also selling a book that features 35 of the 42 miniature paintings, along with interviews with art historians and curators on their favorite butts in art and the history of butts in art.

Viejo Lopez de Roda encourages people to have fun and laugh about the topic.

When the show, first reported by The Brooklyn Paper, opened on Friday, many people immediately started discussing their favorite celebrity butts or had an opinion on various butts, she said.

"It seems like such a silly subject matter," she said. "But there is so much in there to explore and talk about."

The View of the End will be at SHAG, located at 108 Roebling St., until June 7. The book can be purchased for $25 at the store, or for $30 online.
