CHELSEA — Two F trains got stuck on the southbound 23rd Street station track during the evening rush, according to witnesses on social media, triggering train delays.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the trains to stall at the station, but the MTA reported delays on southbound F and M trains due to "mechanical problems" at the 23rd Street stop on its website.

Southbound F and M trains were running express between 34th Street-Herald Square and West 4th Street-Washington Square for a while because of "mechanical problems" at the 23rd Street stop, according to the MTA's website.

As of 7:33 p.m., trains had resumed regular service but with residual delays, according to the agency's website.

A spokesperson for the MTA could not be immediately reached for further comment.
